Guild's pillowcase project

At the September meeting Leslie Peterson, coordinator, provided an update for the Guild's pillowcase charity project that uses the “rollup pillowcase method”.

Beginning in 2009/10 and for 9 consecutive years through 2017/18, members have made 1,109 pillowcases that have been distributed to the following recipients:

• 

  Several bags with pillowcases
  brought to the meeting

  University of Michigan Children's Hospital
• Cancer Services of Midland
• Project Tender Hearts
• Camp Tender Hearts
• Meals on Wheels/ Midland and the surrounding areas
• Nathan J. Widener Children of Abuse and Neglect
• Children's Grief Center of Midland
• Midland County Foster Closet for Children

The 10th year has begun with members bringing in more pillowcases at the September meeting that they made over the summer. Thank you to all of our Q2 pillowcase making angels. Keep sewing,
