Sunday is the last day and some rearranging has been done

Sunday, April 28, from noon to 4 p.m. is the last day for the Guild's 2019 Quilt Show in the Midland County History Center at 3417 W. Main St., Midland. All bazaar items are 1/2 price, unless marked!

Initially several quilts were draped over armchairs. These quilts are now hung so viewers will be able to see their designs better. Please check out:

"Birds of a Feature Quilt Together" is this year's Show and Challenge category theme. Members display their creativity and visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite. The Challenge quilts remain in the same area, but some rearranging was done.

If you have any questions about quilting, on the wall in the featured quilter's room is a display with the steps for Making a Quilt.

To see a slideshow of previous shows and member show-and-tells from meetings, check out the monitor located just past the mystery quilts and before the featured quilter's display.

Gary Skory - In appreciation

In appreciation for the help Gary Skory, Director of the Midland County Historical Society, gives the Guild before, during and after our annual shows, the Guild made and presented Gary with a sampler quilt during Thursday's setup. The quilt is on display during the show.

The project began in September when members selected blocks of different designs and sizes to make. In addition the quilt includes a block of the Bradley Home Museum. Separately a framed quilted block of the Bradley Home Museum was given also. On the back of the quilt is an embroidered block of the Guild's appreciation. The project was coordinated by Mary Ann Howard.

The Guild has had a consecutive Quilt Show since 2004, usually in the Spring of each year (an earlier show was held in October 2002).The Quilt Show has been made possible through our partnership with the Midland County Historical Society.

Gary posted his reaction on Facebook. Thank you, Gary, for your support throughout the years. It has been appreciated.
