The Kindness of Strangers

Imagine a little boy or girl...

...unsure what is happening
...maybe scared or upset

...needing some kind of comfort to get them through a rough patch.
Imagine that child receiving one of these wonderful quilts..
...from a stranger

...willing to share their talents to make something beautiful help make things less scarey, less upsetting.

Something that brings comfort when a little child needs it most.
That's what I love about our Guild - the kindness members bring through their generous spirit. Last meeting nine bright and colorful quilts were given to me to donate where needed most. The person who did this will remain anonymous (which I think she would appreciate) - but a big THANK YOU on behalf of that little child. Your gift is very much appreciated.

  1. Bless the hearts of all the little ones who receive these lovely gifts and bless the heart of the sweet quilter who is responsible for giving of her time and talent to make them. You are so very special. Carol

  2. Toss my name in the hat again. After seeing the
'give-away' gift that you made, Julie I want another chance to win! : )

  3. What a wonderful thing to do for the kids...they will love their quilts and the thought behind them.

  4. How wonderful! Don't know where you plan to give those quilts... but check out HOPE Squared at Margaret's Hope Chest. They are about 1/4 of the way to their goal of 400 quilts for homeless children in Grand Rapids this Christmas.

  5. What a great idea! Has anyone mentioned plans to continue this project? (Sorry if this has already been discussed, as I unfortunately missed the October quild meeting). We should consider this a possibility for an ongoing project for our guild!
